Low Back Pain
As a college football coach and father of three young boys, I can not afford to
be laid up with back pain.  Unfortunately, that has been a far too frequent
scenario for me over the past 17 years.

A skiing injury in the early 1990s coupled with years of playing football and
lacrosse has left me with an unstable lower back that will occasionally “go out”
on me.  I have visited orthopedists, physiatrist, chiropractors, acupuncturists
and physical therapists with mixed results but no long lasting success.  Then I
met with Dr. Russo.  After two treatments of Regenerative Injection Therapy, I
am feeling greater stability in my low back.  I am skiing as aggressively as I
did twenty years ago and I am looking forward to the
upcoming golf season.

Hamstring Strain
For nine months I had been sidelined with an injury that would not heal, and I
thought my soccer career was over. My doctor recommended I see Dr.
Russo.  In four weeks I saw a 50% improvement, in eight weeks I was playing
at 80% and twelve weeks later I was at 100%.  I have rejoined my national
and regional playing schedule and am currently being recruited by five
universities to play NCAA Soccer.

Osteoarthritis: Thumb
I began treatment with Dr. Sam Russo on April 8th, 2008 and my last
appointment was on January 8th, 2009. When I went into treatment I could
barely use my hands secondary to severe pain from years of intensive work
with my hands. I couldn't even pour a cup of coffee from the pot.  I received a
total of 6 treatments in both hands and am delighted to report that the
treatments have been a great success. Before the treatments from Dr. Russo
I received many PT visits, many hand-specialist appointments, orthopedic
appointments with cortisone and work restrictions, all of which did not work.
These treatments have been a answer to prayer for me.

Tennis and Golfer's Elbow
I really thought that my only options were chronic pain or surgical intervention
that didn't seem merited or likely to relieve my pain. Your diagnostics were so
thorough and practical. I had every confidence in your ability and approach
from the first visit forward. In a matter of months you have successfully
treated three years of almost debilitating pain. I sing your praises every
chance I get.

I had ceased a number of the activities I enjoy including avidly knitting and
reducing the amount of gardening I was doing because of the elbow and
shoulder pain. I had tried several bouts of physical therapy and an orthopedic
surgeon did cortisone injections. None of this amounted to much. I was elated
when Naturopathic Vermont accepted my insurance and then even more
excited when I started to improve within weeks of the first tenotomy.

I had suffered on and off from tendonitis/tendonosis
in both elbows for roughly nine years.  When the condition flared up
again this past spring, I saw Dr. Russo about treatment.   After taking a
close look at both elbows with ultrasound, he treated me with prolotherapy.  I’
ve been incredibly encouraged by the results.
While I’ve yet to test the elbows by engaging in the full range of
activities that tend to aggravate them, I am, three months later,
mostly pain-free, operating more or less normally.  This result, I
should add, was the product of only one session with Sam.  In short, I
highly recommend this sort of treatment for conditions such as mine.
And I highly recommend Dr. Russo as a naturopath.   He strikes me as an
extremely skilled and knowledgeable practitioner who is excellent with
patients.

When I first came to see Dr. Russo, the pain near both of my elbows had
been worsening continually, and he determined the problem to be tendinosis.
After just one treatment, my arms began to heal and  strengthen, and 3
months later, I was free of pain and able to do all that I couldn't before
treatment. Dr. Russo's manner and approach is calm, respectful and gentle.
He   clearly explained the  ultrasound results and the details of the
procedure, and was careful to follow up with me in the months  following
treatment.  As a result, I felt safe and confident throughout the treatment and
my healing process. I will recommend Dr. Russo to my friends, clients and
students.

Wrist Pain
I couldn’t ride my bike for three years!  I lived with daily pain after I broke my
wrist.  I received various treatments, including surgery, and my wrist showed
little improvement.  When my orthopedic doctors had no more treatments to
offer, I turned to a naturopathic physician.  After just two prolotherapy
treatments I began to regain function.  After six treatments I am almost pain
free and I can bike as long as I want.

Last spring I developed a painful case of tendonitis in my wrist. I was having
difficulty playing keyboards in my band, which is how I make my living. My
doctor referred me to Dr. Russo who used ultrasound to pinpoint the exact
area needing therapy. With his treatment I am happy to say my wrist is now
as good as new.
